Interest Groups are available for all members and you can join any time during the year. Please contact the group leader by phone or email for additional details on any interest group's activities.

Antique Exploring – Nona Stacks and Patsy Viles
Meets once a month and travels to various antique stores in North Georgia. Great way to get to know the area and add to your collections.

Bridge-Couples – Rosalie Minnich and Jeanie Para
Meets on a Friday evening once a month.

Bridge-Ladies – Pam Cohan and Barbara Wells
Join this group on the third Monday from 10:00am to 2:00pm at Longhorn Steak House. Experienced and novice players are welcome.

Bunko- Daytime – Carol Chapman
Meets on first Wednesday morning in various members’ homes. Bunko is a dice game – easy to play and lots of fun.

Bunko- Evenings – Melissa Jeglinski
Meets on second Monday evening in various members’ homes. Bunko is a dice game – easy to play and lots of fun.

Dining Out – Eleanor Coppedge and Judie Meyer
This group meets at various restaurants around our area on the third Thursday at 6:30pm. It’s a great way to get to know other members and some of our great eating places. Husbands are welcome.

Gardening – Linda Harris and Michelle Canfield
This group is being led by two Master Gardeners. Join us to learn more about what will grow in this area, outings to nurseries and members’ gardens, or just to find out more about what’s growing in your yard.

Gourmet-Ladies – June Carey (this group is closed after the October meeting)
Gorumet Club is a great way to meet new friends and to get to know each other in a smaller setting. The groups will set up their own schedules after organizing.

Gourmet-Couples – Annette Hinton and Pinky Pearce (this group is closed after the October meeting)
Great activity for couples and to get your husband involved. Groups of 4 couples meet at a member’s home for a pot-luck meal.

Gramdma's Closet - Judie Meyer
Do you have toys, port-a-cribs, car seats, etc. that you would be willing to share with fellow Newcomers who have gradchildren who visit? If you would like to participate, sign up and Judie will will coordinate the borrowing and distribution by sending an SOS email to the group requesting a need.

Hiking Group – Jenny Kitchens
Explore the North Georgia mountains on foot with this group. Hikes range from easy to pretty hard. Check each month for our planned outing.

Jet Skiing – Beth Andert
Learn more about Lake Lanier from the water! This group meets every Thursday (almost) from May through September.

Lunch Bunch - Rita Cornick and Lajuana McLeod
Join us as we explore new and fun venues throughout the year. Meet new friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Check the newsletter for upcoming events.

Mah Jong – Jan Hickey
Mah Jong is a Chinese tile game. The group meets the fourth Tuesday at Jan’s home. They play the Chinese version. Open to all skill levels.

Morning Coffee – Paula Pilgrim and Patsy Amidei
Meets once a month. Great way to meet members in a relaxed small-group setting.

Pistol Packin' Mamas - Linda Harris
Learn gun safety, handling, and your rights and responsibilities from professionals in each area. A gun safely class will be followed by actual practice sessions at a pistol range. (You do not need to own a firearm to participate.)

Quilting Group – Joan Sievenpiper
Meets on first Wednesday of the month at Joan’s home. Bring your sewing machine and learn new techniques or work on hand work. Lots of great ideas and skills to be shared.

Reading - Gertrude Rocco
Meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Hall County Book Exchange on Thompson Bridge Road. Books are chosen and discussed monthly by the group.

Scrapbooking/Photo Organization – Lynne Whalen
Meets on the second Friday at Lynne Whalen’s home from 11:00am until 2:00pm (or whenever). Perfect for avid scrapbookers, beginners, or anyone who is just trying to get their piles of photos in order!

Sun, Sail, & Ale – Renee Bernstein
Fantastic activity to include husbands! Join the host by car or sometimes by boat. This group meets one Sunday a month from 3-5pm. Bring a dish to share and your own drink.

Tennis - Rita Toomey
Do you already play tennis? Level 3? Would you like to play more? Contact Rita for more information.

Tour Group - June Carey and Cindy Todd
This group will go on day tours of places and activities in our extended Georgia neighborhood. Most tours will require advanced reservations and pre-paid fees.

Warm Up America – Amy Schick
This group knits/crochets afghans and baby items that are donated to the Red Cross and Newborns in Need. All skill levels are welcome (even beginners). Donated yarn is also appreciated. Meets third Tuesday of the month at Amy’s home from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
