Message from the President
Welcome to the Gainesville Newcomers' Club 48th year! I am so excited to be a leader for this great organization. Think of all the ways our Club touches Gainesville/Hall County area. Our community outreach includes Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Gainesville Senior Center, My Sister's Place, Good News at Noon and Gateway House...just to name a few.
Our members are active in many areas of the community ranging from sports, gardening, education, the visual arts, the symphony and many others. Please use the Club to get to know others from your neighborhood and surrounding area. The Interest Groups are ideal opportunities to get to know others in smaller groups. You can participate in an interest you already have or go ahead and try something new that you have always wanted to learn about but didn't have friends to do it with!
Our big focus this year will continue to be our website. We've ironed out most of the wrinkles since its inception, but you will soon be noticing changes as you log on to our website. Thanks to everyone who submitted your survey about how you use the website. We are working hard to make it more informational and even easier to use.
I appreciate the support of all those on the Board and all of you who are active in the Club. YOU are the backbone of the Club and it takes every one of you to make the Club work. If you have a desire to become more involved and don't know what's needed, just ask one of the board members. I can assure you that we do need your talents.
